Terms & Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms of Service and Privacy Policy ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the services provided by Edoch Pharmacy, Laboratory & Medical Consultancy ("we", "us", "our"), including our pharmacy, laboratory, medical consultation and the online systems used to manage your care. By registering, booking, paying for, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our facilities, website, patient portal, or any related service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using our services on behalf of another person (for example, as a parent, guardian, or next of kin), you confirm that you are authorised to do so. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our services.

2. Our Services

We provide an integrated range of healthcare services, which may include:

  • Dispensing of prescription and over-the-counter medicines through our pharmacy.
  • Clinical laboratory and diagnostic testing.
  • Medical consultation and nursing care, including triage, vitals and patient handover.
  • Billing, payment processing and health-insurance (HMO) claim handling.

Services are provided subject to availability and to the professional judgement of our licensed practitioners. We may add, modify, or discontinue any service at any time.

3. Accounts & Eligibility

Some services require us to create a patient record and assign you a Hospital Number, or require staff to hold a user account. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information, and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any login credentials issued to you and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

4. Medical Disclaimer

Not a substitute for emergency care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department immediately. Do not rely on this platform for urgent medical needs.

Information provided through our services — including consultation notes, prescriptions, and laboratory results — is intended to be interpreted by qualified healthcare professionals. Laboratory results and clinical information do not constitute a diagnosis on their own and should be discussed with your clinician. Always follow the directions of your treating practitioner and the dispensing pharmacist.

5. Payments & Billing

Charges for consultations, medicines, tests, consumables and other services are payable in line with our published tariffs. Payment may be made by cash, card/POS, bank transfer, mobile money, or through an approved health-insurance (HMO) arrangement. Eligibility for clinical services may depend on payment or valid HMO authorisation.

Card and electronic payments are handled by third-party payment processors. We do not store your full card details; those are processed securely by the relevant provider under their own terms. Invoices and receipts are issued for transactions, and outstanding balances must be settled in accordance with our billing policy.

6. Patient Records & Confidentiality

We maintain electronic health records to deliver and coordinate your care. Your medical information is treated as confidential and is accessible only to authorised personnel involved in your care, billing, or as otherwise permitted by law. We are committed to protecting the privacy of your health information at all times.

7. Privacy Policy

Information we collect

  • Identity & contact data: name, gender, date of birth, age, phone, email, address and next-of-kin details.
  • Health data: vital signs, triage and nursing notes, allergies, consultations, diagnoses, prescriptions, laboratory and imaging results, admissions and handovers.
  • Billing data: invoices, payments, and health-insurance/HMO information. (Full card numbers are handled by payment processors, not stored by us.)
  • Technical data: log information and limited local browser storage used to keep forms you are filling safe during poor network conditions.

How we use your information

  • To provide, coordinate and improve your clinical care.
  • To process payments, invoices and insurance claims.
  • To send service notifications relevant to your care (for example, when results are ready or a patient is ready for vitals).
  • To meet our legal, regulatory and professional record-keeping obligations.

How we share information

We share your information only as needed to deliver care or as required by law, including with:

  • Our clinicians, pharmacists, laboratory and nursing staff involved in your care.
  • Your health-insurance provider/HMO for authorisation and claims, where applicable.
  • Payment processors to complete transactions.
  • Regulators, courts or authorities where we are legally required to do so.

We do not sell your personal or health information.

8. Data Security

We apply administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. These include role-based access controls (staff only see information relevant to their role), secure transmission, and restricted system access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continually to protect your data and to limit access to it.

9. Your Data Rights

Subject to applicable law and our record-keeping obligations, you may:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of information that we are not legally required to retain.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, where permitted by law.

Please note that we may be required to retain medical records for a minimum period under applicable healthcare and data-protection regulations even after a request to delete. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.

10. Your Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and complete personal, medical and payment information.
  • Use our services and systems lawfully and only for legitimate healthcare purposes.
  • Do not attempt to access records or accounts that are not yours, or interfere with the security or operation of our systems.
  • Follow the instructions of your clinician and dispensing pharmacist.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, software and materials provided through our services are owned by Edoch Pharmacy, Laboratory & Medical Consultancy or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify or distribute them without our prior written consent.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of our online systems, including loss resulting from network or service interruptions. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability relating to the professional standard of clinical care.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date above shows when the latest changes took effect. Your continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including applicable data-protection regulations. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Nigeria.
